In October 2009 BishopDonald Trautman of Erie diocese, Pennsylvania, gave a very insightful lecture at Catholic University of America. He is one of the few liturgical experts amongst the US bishops. He has chaired the Bishops' Committee on the Liturgy.
It is worth noting that there have been many further changes to the texts since 2009.
